Mill Valley Midcentury
Anchored by lush redwoods, we remodeled this 1960s home with a simple yet impactful design for a contemporary art curator and her family. Inspired by modernist minimalists such as Corbusier and Judd, we used color and textures derived from nature as a way to define spatial geometry and architecture. Materials such as verdigris, waxed copper, Douglas fir, plywood, concrete, and handmade tile are paired with bold hues and furniture from local and international furniture makers, providing an engaging backdrop for the clients’ evolving art collection.
