Studio Roene is a full-service design firm led by Manila-born and California-raised Julia Sobrepeña King. With a career spanning nearly two decades, King received her training from some of the most formidable names in contemporary California design including: Charles De Lisle, Commune Design, Waldo Fernandez, Michael S. Smith and Kelly Wearstler. She founded the studio in 2021 and was named a New American Voice by Architectural Digest in 2022.
"Roene" is a hybrid of the names of her two grandmothers—one an artist and the other an architect—reflecting their revolutionary spirit and her pride in their creative legacy.
